Wildfires

During the summer of 2022, Quinta was on the edge of a major wildfire outbreak, with the fire spreading mainly through the tree canopies. The Quinta estate responded excellently by ensuring that the irrigation sprinklers—extending beyond the golf courses—were activated at critical times to help mitigate the risk of fire spreading into the resort.

It is essential that all residents remain vigilant and are aware of the appropriate steps to take should future wildfires approach the Lakeside area. The following guidance is intended to raise awareness of the measures owners can take to reduce fire risks, as well as emergency procedures to follow in the event of a wildfire near the resort:

  • Garden furniture: Owners leaving during the hotter months are strongly advised to bring garden furniture indoors, as it is often flammable. 
  • Water hoses: All villa owners should ensure they have properly functioning water hoses. These can be critical in an emergency. Fire hoses are also available around the apartment buildings. 
  • Garden maintenance: Keeping gardens and other surrounding areas clean and free from dry vegetation helps reduce the risk of fire spreading. 
  • Emergency numbers:

  • Managing agents: In the event of fire, residents can also contact our managing agents, JPP, on 917 629 447. If necessary, JPP will take action to activate our irrigation system.

Parking

Following a "Have Your Say" message on the website, the Board kindly asks that all owners, guests and contractors (other than when loading and off-loading) avoid straddle parking between the roadside and the calçada. Not only is it dangerous but it impedes pedestrian use and visibility and is detrimental to the ambience of Lakeside Village. There are ample parking spaces available on site without the need for curbside parking. Your co-operation in this matter is appreciated.
